G2 joyride to "Hahnenklee"- 31 kilometers, 686 meters in height- category medium
On this popular mountain bike tour the advantages of e-biked come into effect, since you cycle from Goslar up to the district "Hahnenklee", which is about 570 meters above sea level. But even unexperienced cyclists are able to cope with the 686 m in height thanks to electrical support.
Start is at our store in the city center of Goslar. The signposting of the route G2 of the "Volksbank-Arena-Harz" starts at the station. Right after this the first climb up the "Steinberg" is pending. From there you can enjoy the view over Goslar. Besides a little side trip to the "Steinbergturm" or the Meadows near the "Steinberg Alm" restaurant (of course by foot!).
From there, you take a wide forest road running above the "Granetalsperre", until you follow the "Grane" towards its head. After 12 km you reach of the popular vacation spot "Hahnenklee" underneath the "Bocksberg". There you can have something to eat or drink in one of the many cafes and restaurants, visit the nordic stave church, which is a very special sight of the Harz national park.
The tour goes on through the district "Bockswiese" to the forest lake bath "Kuttelbacher Teich", a pretty mountain lake to provide a nice cooling in the hot summer time. Then you cycle back to the "Granetalsperre" through the typical forests of the Harz National Park. Here you come up against the route G1. Along the dam and across the reservoir damn, you get back to Goslar, after cycling about 31 km and 686 meters in height.
