G1 "Granestausee tour"- 22 kilometers, 466 meters in height- category easy

On this easy tour for beginners you get to know your e-bike. Starting at our store in the "Petersilienstraße" in the city center of Goslar, you ride through the pedestrian area to the station, where you get to the declared route G1 of the "Volksbank-Arena-Harz". After a short distance through the residential area, you continue on a well surfaced forest road running parallel to the railway lines towards the "Granetalsperre".

The "Granetalsperre" or the "Granestausee" belongs to the sheer drinking water dams of the Harz National Park. Water sports aren't allowed here. Since 1969 it is fed by the water of the "Grane" and additionally by a connecting tunnel from the "Innerste-" and the "Okertalsperre". In an exhibition about water inside the buildings of the dam you get to know more about the drinking water supply. It's a nice place for a short break. Around the dam, there goes an about 14.5 km long forest road, which is partly asphalted. Here you ride through the typical landscape of the Harz National Park, with a view over the water and nice places to have a picnic. The tour is about 22 km long and leads over 466 meters in height. People who want to experience the advantages of e-bikes, can also risk a steep climb up the "Steinberg". From here you will have an impressive view over the city and you can make a stop at the "Steinberg Alm" restaurant.
